Most small block Chevrolet blocks have misaligned cam bores and a cam center that is not parallel and straight with the main bore center. SEHR uses the BHJ cam correction system that centers off the main bore center and bore the cam tunnel perfectly true for maximum performance.

 

LIFTER BORE CORRECTION

lifter-bore.jpg (13430 bytes) Lifter bores in a block can be off quite a bit and cause premature cam wear and cause improper valve timing from cylinder to cylinder. This improper alignment robs valuable horsepower from your engine. Our BHJ lifter true corrects lifter bore alignment and angle, which not only increases horsepower but increases the life of your cam. We install premium bronze lifter bushings, then bore the oil galleries in our vertical mill, and then finish hone the inside diameter to the desired specification.

 

BLOCK DECK CORRECTION
Block deck correction $159.00

General Motors did a fine lob on their small block engines for passenger use, but for an all out performance engine the blocks can be off and vary in deck height. We fix that problem using the BHJ deck true, this will not only equal the deck heights to the desired specification but also it will correct the deck angles as well to insure proper head and intake alignment. deck-height.jpg (11447 bytes)

 

CAM OIL GROOVE CORRECTION
Cam oil groove correction $249.00

In a small block Chevrolet sufficient oil supply to the mains depends on the volume of oil in the cam oil groove behind the cam bearing. The correct depth is not always cut in the block for the demand that a performance engine needs. To insure proper main bearing oiling we cut the groove to the proper depth and volume with our special cutters.

 

CYLINDER BLOCK FILLING

In specific applications, our short and tall block fill is used to stable cylinder flex at higher RPM. Poor cylinder stability increases ring leakage and decreases horsepower. We use our own proven blend of fill to add horsepower, strength, and reliability to your block and engine. (Prices include fill, prep, and labor)
